Celebrate PRIDE at Monarch Beach Resort

Happy LGBT pride month! A few weeks ago, in celebration of our 3-year anniversary, we were invited to have a romantic getaway on behalf of Monarch Beach Resort & Spa in Dana Point, CA. It was originally known as the St. Regis Monarch Beach.

This luxurious property features upscale accommodations, a private beach, six restaurants, three pools and an exclusive spa; the perfect combination for a lavish experience.

We started our stay by visiting the Miraval Spa for a 90-minute couples massage. Prior to our appointment we were able to unwind in the private lounge enjoying fruit, tea and comfortable lounge chairs before our massage therapists called for us. The interior of our treatment room allowed us to feel right at home. It had a fire place, bath tub and dimly lit candles. It was the perfect way to kickstart our weekend of relaxation.

Monarch Beach Resort has three pools located on the property: The Sun Scene, Sombra and Miraval Spa’s lap pool. We spent a lot of our time poolside at The Sun Scene, the resort’s family friendly pool, which offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The pool was surrounded by lounge chairs and trendy private cabanas. The cabana we reserved included lounge furniture, a private curtain, cable television and an assigned Cabana Host who we were able to order refreshing alcoholic beverages from. The entire pool deck was massive but because of the privacy of our cabana, it felt like our own little oasis.

Later that evening we made dinner reservations at Stonewall Tavern, A Michael Mina Restaurant located around the corner from the hotel lobby. The meal we had was one of the most delicious meals we had ever tasted. We started off with light beverages and appetizers, followed by our main course. We split a full baked chicken with mashed potatoes and it was incredible. We were so full after the meal that we headed straight to our room to relax for the rest of the night.

The following morning we took full advantage of the newly renovated AVEO Table + Bar Sunday brunch. If you can imagine any brunch food, they had it; the room was surrounded by ten stations that ranged from pasta, pastries, omelets, Bloody Mary's, and a mouth watering dessert table, where we spent most of our time. As self proclaimed foodies we tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed every bite. The brunch was the perfect way to close out our weekend stay at Monarch Beach Resort and Spa.

As an LGBT couple we always look for hotels and resorts that are both welcoming and accepting of our community.  In honor of Pride Month, Monarch Beach has been gracious enough to offer a discount code. When booking your stay, use the code PRIDE and you will receive 30% off their best available rate. If you are looking for a romantic LGBT friendly getaway, amazing food, and relaxing environment, we highly recommend staying at Monarch Beach Resort and Spa for your next vacation. It truly is a "luxurious coastal playground." CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR STAY!
